keep their shape
You want to enjoy your favorite Marie Jo bra for as long as possible. So, what’s the best way to wash your lingerie? The short answer is: by hand. We know this isn't always possible, which is why we’ve created a guide for safely machine-washing your lingerie. Discover our step-by-step plan and our clever washing and drying tips.
Washing instructions #1 – Hand-washing
The best way to wash bras is by hand. Why? Because a gentle hand-wash helps your bra retain its elasticity. The result is a bra that lasts longer and keeps its shape. Check out our ten-step plan for washing your lingerie by hand!
Sort your bras by color.
Fill a bucket with lukewarm water and add some gentle detergent.
Mix by hand until bubbles form.
Submerge your bras in the soapy water.
Let your bras soak for ten to fifteen minutes. This gives the detergent enough time to dissolve any dirt.
Remove your bras from the water.
Drain the dirty water and rinse your bras under clean water until the water runs clear.
Wash your bras again, if necessary.
Lay your rinsed bras on a towel and cover with a second towel. Press to remove excess water.
Push the cups into shape and allow your bras to air-dry.
Washing instructions #2 – Machine-washing
Most women don't have time to wash their lingerie by hand, so they use the washing machine instead. There’s nothing wrong with this, especially when you follow our handy step-by-step plan!
Hook the backs of your bras.
Put your bras in a protective laundry bag.
Wash your bras with similar colors.
If possible, wash your bras with fabrics of similar weight, like T-shirts, underwear, socks, and pajamas.
Choose a delicate cycle and never wash above 30 °C.
Lay your bras flat on a towel and allow to air-dry. Never put them in the dryer.
